Age Verification Terms & Conditions
Last updated 5 June 2026 · Version 1.0
These terms apply when you complete an age or identity check powered by Verisoar (a trading name of Viral Reach Ltd, registered in England & Wales, No. 16348545). The check is provided to you on behalf of the website or app that asked you to verify (the “business”). Please read these terms together with our Privacy Notice and the business's own terms and privacy notice.
1. Our role
The business decides why you are being asked to verify and what happens with the result. For that check, the business is the data controller and Verisoar acts as its processor. We provide the technology that reads your document, checks that a live person matches it, and works out whether you meet the required age — we do not decide whether you are granted access to the business's service.
2. What the check involves
- You photograph an accepted identity document.
- You complete a short live camera check (a liveness step with simple head movements).
- We compare your live image to your document and read your date of birth to determine whether you meet the required age.
The check is automated. You will be told the outcome (for example, approved or declined). You can ask the business for a human review of an automated decision, or contact us at support@verisoar.com.
3. Your consent
Before the check begins, we ask for your explicit consent to process your biometric data for this one-time check (GDPR Art. 9(2)(a)). Taking part is voluntary, but if you do not consent we cannot verify you and the business may not let you continue. You can stop the check at any point before you submit it.
4. What we keep
Your document images and selfie frames are processed in memory only and are never stored. We keep only a minimal record — such as a yes/no “over the required age” result, a coded outcome, short-lived dispute scores, a salted hash of your IP address, and a consent receipt. Full details are in our Privacy Notice and Retention Policy.
5. Your responsibilities
- Use your own genuine, valid identity document — do not use anyone else's document or a forged, altered or fake document.
- Do not attempt to deceive, bypass, or interfere with the check, including by impersonating another person or using images, masks or recordings to defeat the liveness step.
- Provide accurate information and complete the check yourself.
Attempting to defeat an age check may be a criminal offence and may be reported to the business or to the authorities.
6. Cost
There is no charge to you for completing a verification. Any fees are a matter between Verisoar and the business.
7. Accuracy and availability
We use reasonable skill and care, but no verification technology is perfect. The check is provided on an “as is” basis and we do not guarantee it will always be available or produce a correct result in every case. If a check fails, you may be able to retry or use an alternative method offered by the business.
8. Your rights
You have rights over your personal data, including access, correction, and erasure. Because we act as the business's processor, requests about a specific check are usually best directed to the business. You can also contact us at support@verisoar.com, and you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). See our Privacy Notice for full details.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded or limited by law, and these terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Subject to that, we are not liable to you for any loss arising from the business's decision to grant or refuse you access, which is the business's decision and not ours.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also benefit from mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
